Buddy was the center of Ethan and Lu’s life. Buddy got cancer and they had to move out of their apartment and in with friends to afford his treatments. That is when we stepped in. Ethan was to deploy in October 2022 and the one thing that made it easier was that Lu had Buddy.
Ethan deployed and we embraced Lu and Buddy and we were there every step of the way. Unfortunately while Ethan was deployed, Buddy lost his battle in February 2023. Ethan got to say goodbye on Facetime. So unfair. Our hearts shattered. But being the INCREDIBLE people they are, Ethan and Lu thanked us profusely for giving them more time with Buddy. In Memory of Buddy, we decided to make a fund especially for pets of veterans and we are calling it Buddy’s Heroes in honor of the sweet boy, gone way too soon.
